CITY OF WINCHESTER, VIRGINIA
Winchester is an independent city located in the northwestern portion of the Commonwealth of Virginia, with a population of 26,000 within a 9.2 square mile area. The City if organized under the Council-Manager form of local government. The Common Council is comprised of the Mayor and eight council members. Winchester is a full-service city. The Council appoints the City Manager who prepares and administers the City's $140M operating budget and organizes and directs the activities of the City's staff of 480 full time and 97 part time employees.
The candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, political science, economics or related field. A Master's degree is preferred. The candidate should possess at least five years of executive level management and supervisory experience as a city or county manager or assistant or deputy city or county manager.
Compensation: Starting salary and benefits are competitive and negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.
