The City of Woodstock (pop. 21,000), sits less than thirty minutes from the heart of Atlanta, the South's busiest city.  With a population that has nearly doubled since 2000, Woodstock is one of the fastest growing cities in the country.   In fact, Woodstock is projected to triple in population by 2030. The challenge that Woodstock faces is to maintain a balance between the natural and built environment, between growth and economic development, and between growth and preservation.

The City of Woodstock operates under a Council-Manager form of Government. The Mayor and Council are made up of seven individuals.  With a staff of 180, Woodstock is a full-service city.  The City has a current General Fund budget of $15 million and a Total Budget in excess of $25 million.

Education   ¨ The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in Public Administration.  The successful candidate will have at least a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Public Administration or a related area.  ICMA Credentialing would be a plus. 

Work Experience   ¨ The candidate will have at least five years experience in county or municipal government as the chief executive officer.  However, applicants with extensive experience as an assistant manager will be given consideration, particularly if they bring strong skills in areas such as planning and finance.

The starting salary range for the position is $125,000 to $155,000, depending on qualifications.
