Valdosta (pop. 47,000) is located in South Georgia, situated along Interstate 75. At first glance one might think this is your typical laid back South Georgia town but, upon visiting Valdosta, you will discover that it is a booming metropolitan area with all of the amenities of a large town and all of the quality of a small town.
The Utilities Department is responsible for Water, Sewer and Drainage. The Director is responsible for 103 employees and a budget of $13 million.
The candidate will have, as a minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in engineering. A registered P.E. would be a plus. At least seven years experience in water/wastewater and experience at the director level, although those with experience as the “Number 2” in a substantial organization will be given consideration. Wastewater experience is particularly important.
The starting salary range is up to $105,000, DOQ.
