The Engineering Department is part of the General Government Function. This department includes the Administration, Traffic, and Street Repair & Maintenance Divisions.
The Traffic Division is responsible for the day to day operation and maintenance of signs and signals throughout the City. The installation of new control devices and striping duties are also functions of this division.
The Traffic Engineer performs engineering design duties to improve the operational efficiency of the city’s transportation system.
Education ¨ The candidate will have, as a minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in engineering. A registered P.E. would be a plus.
Work Experience ¨ The candidate will have at least three years experience in traffic engineering. Supervisory experience would be a plus, as would transportation planning experience.
The starting salary range is $52,000 to $75,000, depending on qualifications.
