CITY OF SHERIDAN, COLORADO
The City of Sheridan, Colorado is looking for a new City Manager. The City is a small, dynamic city that is urban in nature, but with a home-town feel. It is centrally located in the southwest Denver metro area, and is served with light rail that provides easy access to downtown Denver’s cultural, educational and entertainment activities. A recent brownfields redevelopment project has provided a new revenue source, and there is still substantial opportunity for infill growth and economic development. Qualifications and Experience: The new City Manager will possess a Bachelor’s degree in political science, public administration, business administration or other related field and at least five years of progressively responsible experience in city management or a comparable field. A Masters Degree in public administration or related field is preferred.
The preferred candidates will have experience in suburban communities, in economic development, and in commercial and retail development, including urban renewal and tax increment financing. The City desires a good negotiator with experience in building solid, mutually beneficial public/private partnerships.
He or she should also have a thorough working knowledge of infrastructure systems and maintenance, service delivery through intergovernmental agreements, and municipal finance.
Compensation: The starting salary range for the City Manager position is $110,000 to $125,000 DOQ. The City offers a generous benefit package that includes health, dental, vacation and retirement benefits.
