R.I.T.A. - REGIONAL INCOME TAX AGENCY,

R.I.T.A. is headquartered in the greater Cleveland area and is a public agency that collects and distributes income taxes for its 110 member municipalities across 30 counties in the State of Ohio. The new Executive Director will administer a 2004 Operating Budget of approximately $13 million and oversee a workforce of 138 FTEs and 20 P/T employees. The ideal candidate will have unquestioned integrity and ethics and view himself/herself as a leader with well-developed managerial, interpersonal and communication skills. The Director will be required to be a high profile advocate for the agency and work effectively with representatives of municipalities of different sizes and their delegates to the governing Board of Trustees. While previous experience in tax policy, administration and collection is viewed as a plus, a higher priority will be placed on candidates with a strong set of generalist skills, a good business acumen and at least five years of successful supervisory and administrative experience in a comparable public agency or private sector entity. Experience with workforce training, professional development and the contemporary use of performance measures and incentives are also a plus. A four year degree in a related field is required and a Master’s or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
