The Town Council of Pinetop-Lakeside is seeking an outstanding individual for its Town Attorney who has the experience and vision to assist the Town Council in taking the community to the next new level of success.
The successful candidate will be an active member in good standing in the State Bar of Arizona, but need not necessarily be a current resident of the State. The successful candidate should possess a J. D. degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association, and have five years experience in the practice of law, including two years experience in municipal law. Evidence of continued professional development through active participation and leadership roles in professional organizations and activities is also a plus. The Council is seeking someone who operates with a Ano-surprises@ philosophy and someone who shares information with all the Council equally.
The Town Attorney serves as the chief legal advisor to the Town and in doing so is responsible for providing sound and efficient legal services to all departments, officials, boards, commissions, and the Town Council. Responsibilities include planning, staffing, and supervising legal needs of the Town. This is a new in-house position. Legal services to the Town government in the past have been via a contract attorney.
With a current full-time resident population of 4,165 in its incorporated boundaries, the resort community of Pinetop-Lakeside is located in the scenic White Mountains of Arizona in the Apache/Sitgreaves National Forest and adjacent to the Fort Apache Indian Reservation. Seasonal population is substantially greater than the full-time resident population and reaches as much as 50,000 on occasion during summer months.

The starting salary for the new Town Attorney of Pinetop-Lakeside will be market competitive depending upon the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate. In addition, a competitive benefits package will be provided to the successful candidate. Reasonable relocation expenses will be paid by Town for the successful candidate.
