POLK COUNTY, FLORIDA
Polk County is at the geographic center of Florida and encompasses over 2,000 square miles. The current population is approximately 500,000 and it continues to experience significant growth. This position reports to the County Manager. This is one of two Deputy County Managers - one for the Community Services Group and one for the Infrastructure/Growth Management Group - and an Assistant County Manager who oversees the Support Services Group. Public Safety, Human Services and Neighborhood Services make up the Community Services Group. The position requires graduation from an accredited four year college or university with major course work in public administration, business administration or a related field. It also requires a minimum of 10 years of management experience with at least 5 years of executive-.evel local government management experience. Starting salary is up to $115,000 depending on qualifications. The position offers generous fringe benefits.
