COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

CITY OF OAKLAND PARK, FLORIDA

 

The City of Oakland Park is located in Broward County in Southeast Florida and has a population of approximately 42,000.  Oakland Park is within minutes of the major metropolitan area of Fort Lauderdale.  The Community Development Director reports directly to the City Manager.  The Community Development Department encompasses Planning, Building, and Code enforcement.  The Department has 24 employees.   The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Regional Planning, Landscape Architecture, Growth Management, Engineering, or a related field.  A Master's degree is preferred.  The candidate will have at least eight year's experience in municipal, county or regional planning, with significant experience in community redevelopment, development regulations, zoning administration, and code enforcement.  Management experience is important.  The starting salary range for the position is up to $107,000, depending on qualifications.
