Council-Manager form of government. With a staff of 200, primary services provided by the City are police and fire/rescue emergency services, public works, parks, recreation, and water and sewer. All departments of the City, with the exception of the City Attorney, are under the supervision and control of the City Manager.
Marco Island’s’ tax base is over $11 billion, with a millage rate of only $1.2833 per thousand dollars of taxable value. The City has a General Fund budget of $15 million and Total Budget of $85 million.
Starting salary range is $150,000 to $180,000, DOQ. Fringe benefits are generous, including the possibility of housing assistance.
