COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR

LEE COUNTY, GEORGIA

Lee County is the most vibrant and progressive county in southwest Georgia. With a population of 35,000, the county is located approximately two hours north of Tallahassee, Florida, two hours south of Macon, and borders Dougherty County and the City of Albany. The Board of County Commissioners seeks a professional administrator to provide strategic and operational management.  The county values its excellent resources for public education, sustained growth, high per capita income, quality of life of its residents, small-town atmosphere, and close knit low crime communities. The County has had four administrators since 1990.  The general fund budget for fiscal year 2010-11 is $21M, with the inclusion of all funds, 32M. There is a professional staff of  252 full-time employees. The Administrator is appointed by a 5-member Board of County Commissioners.  The ideal candidate possesses experience with economic and commercial development, tax initiatives and development of revenue sources, an engaged citizenry, the skills to guide the development of strategic plans and capital improvement initiatives, and the capacity to manage organizational change. Bachelors degree (Master’s degree preferred) with a minimum of 7 years of experience in county governmental management with five years as the chief executive or administrative officer or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
