Historic Howell, pop. 9,232, seat of thriving Livingston County, mid-Michigan, seeks a proactive human resources professional to build and manage full HR services. Reports to the City Manager; also assists with special management projects. Total 71 employees plus part-time and seasonal, with one Police bargaining unit and a public services unit. Ideal candidate will have experience in a full-service HR environment; knowledgeable in recruitment, selection, compensation and benefits, HR law and privacy; experience with collective bargaining, training and employee development; familiar with risk management, workplace safety, performance appraisal. Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or related field plus 3 year’s experience, public sector familiarity, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
