VILLAGE OF GLENWOOD, ILLINOIS

The Village of Glenwood is located in Cook County about 23 miles from the City of Chicago and has a population of about 9,000 citizens.  It is a Mayor/Trustee form of government with an appointed Village Administrator.  There are 53 full time employees with an annual General Fund budget of $2.7 million and a total budget of $13.2 million.

The Village Administrator is chosen by the Village President and Board of Trustees based on qualifications of the candidate.  The Village Administrator directs, supervises and coordinates all departments, offices and agencies of the Village except elected positions and those exempted by law.

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field such as municipal planning with a minimum of three to five years of supervisory experience at the executive level.  A Master’s degree in Public Administration and/or an ICMA Credentialed Administrator/Manager would be a plus.
