CITY OF GLENDALE, ARIZONA
The City of Glendale, Arizona, is seeking two seasoned professionals with senior level generalist experience for the position of Deputy City Manager. These executive level positions report to the Assistant City Manager and are responsible for planning and directing the activities and staff of a diverse group of City departments. A future reorganization will determine the exact duties of these positions. The City of Glendale is home to the NHL Coyotes, NFL Cardinals, the Fiesta Bowl, and the 2008 Super Bowl. Glendale is also a growing community of 232,000 residents and over 1,800 dedicated employees. The annual budget for FY 03-04 is $593 million. Successful candidates will possess a Master’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Management or a related field and eight years of progressively responsible administrative experience in the public sector. Must possess demonstrable leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well with city employees at all levels, including elected and appointed officials.
