FINANCE DIRECTOR

The City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, is looking for a proactive, technically proficient, team player to provide sound fiscal management of the City’s finances as the Finance Director. The Finance Director is an integral part of the City’s management team. This position oversees a complex fiscal system with multiple enterprise and special funds. As director of the Finance Department, this position leads 55 employees in accounting, purchasing, billing and budgeting functions. Under the general direction of the Mayor, the Finance Director represents an outstanding opportunity to generate positive change within the Department and organization. This position is responsible and accountable for compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations, local ordinances, bond indentures, and industry standards published by authoritative bodies that govern financial and procurement matters. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, finance, or related fields. Post graduate academic work or degree is a plus. CGFM, CPFO, CPA, or equivalent professional certifications desired. Seven to ten years experience in positions of increasing responsibility in financial management in municipal government. The City provides a comprehensive salary and benefits package which includes a starting salary range of $77,820-$109,698, a generous retirement program, medical and dental coverage and a variety of other benefits.
