Edmond is a full service City with 601 full/part-time employees and a total budget for FY 02-03 of over $224M. The Director’s duties include planning, organizing and directing the Parks & Recreation Department which includes recreation programs, park maintenance, cemetery operations, aquatic center, Arcadia Lake parks and wildlife management programs, Kickingbird Golf Course and the Senior Citizens’ Center. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation Administration or a closely related field. The successful candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of progressively complex and responsible related work experience, including considerable supervisory and managerial experience. The successful candidate must have excellent leadership, management and supervisory skills, including being a motivator, coach, teacher, mentor and morale builder. The established starting salary range is $65,000 to $70,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience, plus car allowance and excellent benefits package.
