Douglas County, the second most affluent and one of the fastest growing counties in the nation, population over 250,000, seeks an entrepreneurial human resources professional to focus HR services that help advance the priorities of the Board of Commissioners and the needs of the County Departments and Elected Officials. County seat is Castle Rock, between Denver and Colorado Springs. See www.douglas.co.us.  Total 1100 employees, with HR budget over $1 million and staff of 8. Reports directly to the County Administrator.  Ideal candidate will have experience in proactive, full-service HR environment; knowledgeable in recruitment & selection, employee development, compensation, wellness, training, organization development and HR policies; expertise in benefits and retirement systems; familiar with performance measurement and appraisal. Talent for building relationships and teams. A role as employee advocate; no bargaining units. Bachelor’s degree in related field, graduate degree preferred, plus 7 years experience, public and/or private sector, familiar with law enforcement, human services and other County functions, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
