Mid-point salary for this position has been set at $105,000 by the city, plus executive benefits. Compensation will be negotiated based upon qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
The City of Dayton, Ohio is seeking an energetic and proactive Aviation Director to oversee management and development of the Dayton Airport System. Dayton International Airport is a small hub airport that lies mostly within the corporate limits of the City of Dayton. Dayton International Airport encompasses over 4,600 acres, provides non-stop service to 19 American cities and is currently served by 8 air carriers with an average of approximately 1.2 million passenger enplanements and 59,000 flight operations annually. It serves 5.1 million people within a 75 mile radius.
It is important for the new Aviation Director to be drawn to Dayton International Airport for the opportunity to bring a “business development” orientation to position the airport to compete within a strong regional market. The Aviation Director will be expected to maintain and update the airport’s strategic plans, work to keep airport related operating costs low and aggressively market the airport system’s assets to potential carriers. The successful candidate will understand and embrace Dayton’s vision for the future, grasp the economic development opportunities and challenges and lie ahead and desire to make the airport system highly competitive.
