CITY OF DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA
The City of Daytona Beach is situated in Volusia County, on central Florida's east coast. The population is 65,000 and it encompasses approximately 65 square miles. The eastern border is the Atlantic Ocean and is is widely known as "The World's Most Famous Beach." Daytona Beach operates under the Commissioner-Manager form of government. The City Manager and City Attorney are appointed by the Commission. The Daytona Beach Fire Department has 119 employees and an annual budget of $12 million. The Fire Chief, under administrative direction of the City Manager, has the responsibility for administering all functions of the Fire Department. The starting salary range for the Fire Chief is up to $110,000 depending on qualifications. Fringe benefits are generous.
