REDEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

CITY OF DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA

 

The City of Daytona Beach is situated in Volusia County, on central Florida's east coast.  Daytona Beach has a population of about 65,000 and encompasses approximately 65 square miles.  The City's eastern border is the Atlantic Ocean and it is widely renowned as "The World's Most Famous Beach."  The City of Daytona Beach operates under the Commissioner-Manager form of government  The City Manager and City Attorney are appointed by the Commission.  The City has 1,005 full-time employees.  The Utility Director reports directly to the City Manager.  The Utility Engineering Manager reports to the Director of Utilities and is part of the Utilities Department management team.  The Utility Engineering Manager directly supervises the Design Technician and the CAD Technician.  The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, be a Professional Engineer registered in the State of Florida or the ability to obtain within six months of employment and at least seven years of relevant civil engineering experience specializing in water and sewer utilities.  Supervisory experience is desirable.  The starting salary will be competitive depending on qualifications.  Fringe benefits are generous.
