Charlotte County Utilities (CCU) is a water and wastewater utility which serves approximately 56,000 homes and businesses.  The Utilities Department consists of five divisions: Business Services, Finance, Customer Relations, Field Operations, Information Services, and Engineering Services. Field Operations consists of Quality Distribution & Collection, Maintenance, and the Wastewater Treatment operations.

The Utilities Engineering Services Manager reports to the Utilities Director.  He/she is responsible for 37 employees and an operating budget of $2.2 million.  The CIP budget was $40 million for 2006 and will increase yearly to a level of $90 million in 2009.

The Utilities Engineering Services Manager performs responsible work supervising and managing the analysis, planning, permitting, design, construction, and operational start-up of projects and activities for the Engineering Division of the Utilities Department, as well as supervision of technical and engineering personnel and support staff. 

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or related field, and at least 7 years of relevant civil engineering experience, specializing in water and sewer utilities. Supervisory experience is essential.  Registered P.E., or the ability to obtain within six months of employment, is highly desirable.

Starting salary is up to $95,000, DOQ.
