The Mayor and City Council are seeking an outstanding individual who has the experience and vision to assist the Mayor and City Council in taking the community to a new level of success.

A Masterís degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field from an accredited college or university is required.    Evidence of continued professional development through active participation in professional membership associations and activities such as the ICMA and the GCCMA is required. An individual who is an ICMA Credentialed Manager would be a plus.

Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in local government as a City Manager, Assistant or Deputy City Manager or Department Head in a large locality. Demonstrated ability in economic development, budgeting, financial and project management, and utilities; strong leadership, facilitation/teamwork, multicultural experience and effective intergovernmental and interpersonal skills.  Experience in Georgia and familiarity with Georgia laws would be a plus.

                   This is a high-level executive management position that is responsible for directing and supervising the operations of the City. The work involves managing and supervising all departments of the City to achieve goals using available resources.  Residency in the City within a reasonable time after appointment is required.

The City of College Park operates under a Council-Manager form of government with a governing body of four Council Members and a Mayor.  The City has a year-round workforce of 500 employees in 16 operating departments.  The FY 2012 annual operating budget is $114 Million.  The City is in good financial condition and is characterized by outstanding bond ratings and a steady revenue flow.

The expected starting salary range is a minimum annual salary of $129,000 depending on experience and qualifications of the selected individual. In addition, College Park offers a comprehensive benefits package including car allowance, utility credit and moving expenses to the successful candidate. This position is a contractual position.
