Incorporated in 1915. Full-service local government. Casa Grande is a Charter City with a Council/Manager form of government. The FY 2003-2004 City budget totals $54.8 million. The City employs approximately 300 staff plus seasonal and temporary employees. The City Manager is appointed by a directly-elected mayor and six council members. The current City Manager is retiring. The most recent City Council election was in March, 2003. Salary is negotiable depending on experience and qualifications and is in the range of $100,000 to $138,000 per annum, with a competitive fringe benefit program and automobile or auto allowance. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or related field from an accredited university, with a related Master’s degree preferred. Evidence of continued professional development is important. The position requires five to seven years progressively responsible experience as a city manager, assistant or deputy city manager in a progressive community. Experience and skills in finance and budget required, in economic development and redevelopment and in intergovernmental relations. Needed professional skills include a person of high standards who is a team player and leader, a person with strong interpersonal and communication skills, a visionary leader, manager and administrator, a person with strong negotiating skills.
