The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration or related field, with a related Master’s degree preferred. Evidence of continued professional development is important. Requires seven years experience as a city manager or assistant or deputy city manager in a city of reasonable size. Experience and skills in visionary leadership and growth management preferred. Experience in land use, creative financing, budgeting, economic development and attracting and retaining high quality staff preferred. Needed professional skills include a person of high standards who is a team player, an effective delegator and problem solver, good negotiation skills, an effective communicator and public speaker, and a person who will become involved in the community.
