City Manager. Population: 6,810. Salary $90,000.  ICMA (CM) recognized in 1959.  Former manager served 6 years. Operates under commission-manager form of government.  Five member City Commission elected for 4-year, non-partisan, staggered terms.  $8.7M general fund budget, $32M all funds. 115 employees.

This is an exciting opportunity to manage an historic City in the beautiful Southwest.  Aztec is located in northwest New Mexico near the four corners.  The cost of living is low and the weather is wonderful.  Aztec is the County seat for San Juan County.

Ideal candidate has bachelor’s degree in related field and at least 3 years progressively responsible local government management experience as a city manager, assistant manager, or both. You must have demonstrated ability to develop an effective management team and carry out the goals of the city commission; experience in a full-service community, including all utilities; committed to high quality service delivery, strong interpersonal & communication skills.
