The City Engineer performs professional administrative engineering work by directing the Engineering Division of the Environmental Services Department and does related work as required. The position requires extensive experience in the practice of municipal civil engineering, including responsibility for planning and directing major aspects of a public works engineering program. The position requires registration as a Professional Engineer with the Iowa State Board of Registration. The position also requires good administrative skills, the ability to manage consultants and projects, well-developed people skills, and the ability to achieve/maintain respect of the City Council, staff and the community.
